35 Weeks & 1 Day Pregnant
I was dressed up for my mom’s Birthday.

I have been working my pregnant butt off getting this nursery ready for Natalia since my last post! I had to take a break completely from my computer just so I could start getting things done at a timely pace; but it was a good, much needed break. I reorganized everything in her bedroom, clean and fully painted her entire dresser, plastered and sanded the walls, then taped the borders, painted that, and shampooed the carpet so it would be clean and fresh when baby girl gets here. I did so much work that I had to stop because my back was killing me! The most proud aspect about it is that all the hard work was done by me, 8 months pregnant, BY MYSELF. So I definitely have a lot to be proud of! Now all that there is left to do is reorganize the furniture once more, paint her night table to match the dresser, and put the crib and changing table together. That’s just the hard stuff though. I also have to wash all her clothes, towels and bedding, basically anything that will come in contact with her skin, put all that stuff away and organize her closet. I ordered some very cute zebra print handles and knobs to put on the dresser and night table a couple days ago, so I’m expecting those to come in the mail by next week. When I get those, I can put them on the dresser and night table and those items will be finished! I’m getting a little bit done every day and it should be fully completed within the next two weeks or even sooner if I keep up at this pace! I am very excited about how everything is turning out. The room looks absolutely GORGEOUS so far and I can’t wait for it to be done so I can take pictures of all my hard work.

Tattoo looks good! No stretch Marks (:

Still no doctor’s appointment since my last, but I go next week so I will have a medical update on my next post. (:

I’ve been getting some baby shopping supplies crossed off the baby needs list. I was even able to afford to get myself a matching outfit! I only shop for things on sale, with deals and coupons or just all around really good prices. You could call me cheap, but I like to think of myself as a smart shopper because I always try to make sure I get the most for my money, especially these days when that green stuff is so limited.

IMG_20130215_164122On Tuesday, I finally realized what this familiar pounding feeling was going on inside of me that occurred before but I couldn’t figure out what it was for the longest time. My daughter was having the hiccups and I even read that babies got hiccups inside the womb but never really payed attention to it. I didn’t even know what they felt like, if I could feel them at all. Well I definitely felt them Tuesday night while lying in bed. I just felt like this reoccurring beating sound in my belly that seemed to ‘loud’ to be a heartbeat; then I put two and two together. I had felt these before but did not know that Natalia was having hiccups. It was the cutest discover ever. I went to show my mom so she could feel them also and she laughed thinking it was the funniest thing ever. Mom also says that she can’t wait to hold this baby, she’s going to spoil her rotten, and in my head I’m like’Greattttttttt’, lol. No I’m just kidding. I know my mom is going to spoil her rotten and she is not the only one either. My little girl is going to be the happiest baby because she’s going to have nothing but love and affection around her all the time. I know I say it in every post, but it’s because it’s how I truly feel and I can’t help but to say it; I cannot wait to hold my daughter and have her here with me in my arms, holding her, cherishing her, caring for her, cuddling with her. This is going to be a very special and happy part of my life that I am totally ready for.

Lavish Lilac Leopard Print

This week’s nail design: Lilac Leopard Print. I got the idea from a Facebook fan page: Nails. I used the following:

  • Wet n Wild’s Black Cremé
  • Sally Hansen’s No Hard Feelings Pastel Purple
  • Milani’s Glitzy Lilac
  • Sally Hansen’s Clear Base & Top Coat
  • Sally Hansen Filing Board
  • Dotting Tool (Pick Up Gems)
  • Angle Tip Nail Art Brush
  • Short Nail Art Brush
  • Silver Rhinestones
  • Nail Polish Remover to clean up the mess.

First I filed my nails down to the length and shape that I wanted and painted them with the Pastel Purple. I usually paint 2 coats, especially when the color is a light one. After letting those dry for a couple minutes, I painted the glitzy lilac color in a diagonal stroke across all my nails; the left hand is angled from the bottom right to the top left, the right hand is angled from the bottom left to the top right. (See picture for a better understanding.)  Then I use the nail art brushes to draw random lines and dots ONLY on the lilac to create a leopard print pattern. Next I paint a clear streak down the diagonal line that differentiates the two colors and begin to adhere the rhinestones. I let those dry for about a minute before finally painting a top coat to make them complete. And there you have it! Gorgeous gotta-look-back-at-those lavish lilac leopard nails. This is a very girly, flashy, sparkly nail design that brings out the diva in you. I absolutely love them and it’s super easy to do! Not to mention, all the positive comments you get and the satisfaction of being able to tell people you did it yourself.

Holiday Make-Up – First Cut Crease Using Glitter

This Christmas year, I am 27 weeks pregnant, just coming into my third trimester. So instead of going out, I’m staying in. Besides, it’s way too cold to be out there having to wear layers of clothes! And God knows clothes are uncomfortable enough for me as it is, lol! Anyways, I felt like dressing up; like a Christmas tree that lights up the whole room. So I put on so very cute brand new red clothes that I bought and haven’t worn yet, and did my make-up with glitter and red to be festive for the holidays. My make-up turned out so good, it kind of made me want to go out and show it off! I took pictures instead, and when I uploaded them, EVERYBODY loved it. I actually learned the eyeshadow cut crease technique from this girl on YouTube (she’s referenced below) who I thought did an amazing job. So I tried it, and it came out perfect! The picture is the proof.

Holiday Make-Up 2012 - Smokey Glitter Eye Shadow & Candy Red Lips

Holiday Make-Up 2012 – Smokey Glitter Eye Shadow & Candy Red Lips

I used a white eyeshadow for the base of my eyelid. I use white because it makes the color you put over it brighter. I then used a sparkly silver eyeshadow over the white. I used Maybelline’s eye studio eyeliner with the brush to draw a perfect line along my crease. I actually went a little bit above my crease just to give the illusion that my eyelid is bigger than it actually is. I like to do this because I’m using glitter and I want people to see a lot of it without having to close my eyes. After I draw the line, I go over it again to make it a little darker and thicker, then I fade it outwards. Next, I used Wet n’ Wild’s sparkly black eyeshadow ($1.95 @ Walmart – you don’t have to buy expensive make-up for it to look good) on my brush and dabbed on the outer edge of the faded black line to add a little shape to my defined crease. I help fade it out by blending a sparkly light skin color  eye shadow to give it a less “racoon-ish” look. Next, I add a light colored creamy eyeshadow over the lid to use as an adhesive for the glitter to stick. After this I used a clean brush to pat it in silver eye shadow, dab in the glitter and then on to my eyelid. I cover the entire lid so that it’s nothing but glitter. I then used Maybelline’s liquid eyeliner with a pointed tip to draw an Egyptian cat-like line on my upper lid, and filled it in keeping out/wiping any excess glitter that falls onto the black. Last, I add eyeliner and mascara and there you have it; Holiday makeup! I think this look is great for any celebration: Christmas, New Years, a birthday, a party, etc. To add a little Christmas spirit to to my look, I put on Revlon’s 725 Love That Red lipstick with clear lip gloss. I think this makes me look like one of those porcelain dolls! Believe it or not, this was actually my very first attempt at cutting my crease when applying glitter. As I mentioned above, I learned from this girl on YouTube, which I will add a link to her video below. Eventually when I get around to fixing my camera, I’ll make the tutorials I keep talking about. Hopefully for now, you can learn by reading and looking at my example photos. Stay tuned for more beautiful make-up designs. I take pictures of my make-up every time so there’s a lot to look forward to. (:

Here is the video of the girl I learned how to cut my crease and add glitter from.
